AVL Appoints Nick Owen
AVL Media Group announces the appointment of industry veteran Nick Owen as Vice President of Business Development, AVL Group Inc. and Senior Director of Sales USA.
Nick joins the AVL Group, US distributors for Tannoy, Lab Gruppen, Midas, Turbosound, Klark Teknik, Lake, Aston Microphones, and Zero-Ohm. After a 20 year career at Harman International. Beginning his career in Pro Audio in 1991 Nick as one of the founders of Soundscape Digital Technology, a pioneer in Multi-Track Hard Disk Recording later acquired by Loud Technology. Nick then joined Crown International in 2002 as sales director for EMEA. Says Owen, “In 2006, I moved to California with my family after a promotion to Vice President, Harman Pro North America where I managed US Sales for AKG, Soundcraft and Studer.”
2011 brought a new challenge as Nick moved briefly to Salt Lake City, as VP global sales for Harman Signal Processing, running sales internationally for Lexicon, DBX, BSS and Digitech. He then took a two year hiatus from Harman as V.P. of Sales for Korg USA where he enjoyed rekindling his passion for music. Nick returned to Harman in 2015 as Vice President of Global Sales for Tour Audio Systems, overseeing the launch of the JBL VTX Line Array products and remained at Harman in various senior management positions until retiring from the company in 2024.
